How to show a cookie consent banner on your websites

You can show a cookie consent banner on all of the websites in your CRIBFLYER account. Visitors are asked to Accept or Decline cookies, and analytics and tracking code waits until they accept. This is useful if you or your brokerage want your websites to follow privacy rules such as GDPR or the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

The banner is off by default.

How to turn it on

  1. Go to the My Account section of your CRIBFLYER admin panel.
  2. Click the link that reads: More Options.
  3. Under Cookie Consent Banner, choose Show a cookie consent banner on all sites.
  4. Click the Save Changes button.

The banner appears at the bottom of every property and agent website in your account. It uses your website's colors and fonts, and it links to the website's Privacy & Cookie Policy page.

What waits until the visitor accepts

If the visitor clicks Decline, none of this code runs.

Good to know

  • Every script in your Tracking Code boxes waits for consent, including chat widgets, video bubbles and review badges. They appear once the visitor clicks Accept.
  • Site verification tags, such as google-site-verification or facebook-domain-verification meta tags, are not affected and keep working.
  • Tracking images pasted on their own, outside a script, are not held. Most pixel code uses a script, so this is rare.
  • Code that uses document.write does not work once it has waited for consent. Ask your vendor for their asynchronous version.
  • The visitor's choice is saved in a cookie on that website for 6 months. To change it, a visitor can click Change cookie preferences on the website's Privacy & Cookie Policy page.
  • Your Google Analytics reports will show fewer visits once the banner is on, because Google Analytics only records full visits from people who accept. The visitor counts in your CRIBFLYER admin panel are not affected.
