Exterior: Strikingly designed with a high contrast black and white exterior, this modern farmhouse is beautifully trimmed with low-maintenance finishes. Vinyl board-and-batten vertical siding is framed with black vinyl trim and windows. Douglas fir posts and corbels add warmth to the look. The walkway and spacious front porch are stained, stamped concrete with a black and grey hue, and the back porch landing is a brushed concrete finish. Standing seam metal roof sections on the porch and window compliment the black architectural shingled main roof.

Entry: Eight-foot double doors with three-quarter glass open into the vaulted foyer and wide open living space. From here the 5” natural maple floors, finished on-site, sprawl in all directions throughout the entire home. Ten-foot ceilings give the home an airy feel, while 7-foot solid wood doors with taller custom trimwork. Overhead, a lantern style fixture hangs between two cross beams and lights the entry.

 

Dining/Living Areas: An open, generously-sized dining room easily holds a table for 10-12 and can be as casual or formal as you’d like it. A circular chandelier mixes bronze and brass finishes for a warm and timeless look.

 

In the living room, transom windows sit above the oversized windows flanking the gas fireplace with bluestone hearth, shiplap surround/accent wall with a natural beam mantle and HDMI cable hardwired above it for TV if desired. The living area pverlooks the backyard, offers recessed lighting, and is well-proportioned to fit a large sectional sofa or individual pieces. All of it is wide open to the kitchen.

 

Kitchen: It doesn’t get more open than this kitchen with direct “wall-free” conversation and views with the living room and dining area. Kraftmaid cabinets in a Canvas painted finish extend down the full back wall of the kitchen and stretch to the ceiling with lighted seeded accent glass cabinets topping the 42” upper cabinets plus a custom crown molding to the ceiling. They house the counter-depth GE stainless refrigerator, and 5-burner propane gas GE Range w/ oven. An oversized off-white subway tile with contrasting grout lines the walls as a backsplash and under-cabinet lighting sets the mood. Above the range is an original, custom-built oak chimney style range hood that brings the wood tone back into the space and vents cooking heat to the outside. Opposite the cabinets with more than 42” of floor space, sits the island built from Kraftmaid Alderwood cabinets in a warm Husk stain, with room for 6 stools. A Kohler cast-iron farm sink with apron front is centrally located and faces the living space. A Bosch dishwasher is at the ready on your right, and a large trash/recycling slide out sits on your opposite side. Additional cabinets enable storage and the Quartz countertops spread at one level over the entire island surface to match the perimeter cabinets. Overhead, two large bronze/brass pendants add ambiance and light to your everday life or entertaining.

 

Perhaps the highlight of this stunning kitchen is the walk-in pantry with prep space. A custom built sliding door with seeded glass transom window above gives you the first look into the accompanying space. A mercury glass brass and bronze pendant sparkles and recessed lighting is ready for your tasks. Butcher block counters line each of the 3 walls of Kraftmaid base cabinets that offer endless storage for pantry items, tools and accessories. Open shelving rises on each side with black iron brackets and a window brings in natural light perfect for an indoor herb garden. Outlets line the walls for small appliances and a wine/beer/beverage cooler is built into the base cabinets. This little room is functional and fantastic.

 

Mudroom: Three muted colors of tile rotate to create the well-worn feel of this brick-inspired flooring in a herringbone pattern throughout the mudroom and hall. The intricate design travels from the two-car garage door to mudroom with built-in custom bench and shiplap wall with shelf, hooks for hanging and storage underneath. A hall leads to the half-bathroom with Kohler pedestal sink, Kohler toilet and another detailed tile pattern. Next, the hall ends at the large laundry room with both a coat closet and cleaning closet, a window, and space for a side by side washer/dryer. In the mudroom you’ll also find a door leading to the full basement and oak finished steps leading up to the unfinished bonus room with dormer, mechanicals planned out for easy finishing if desired.

 

Primary Suite: A seeded-glass transom window tops the entry to the master suite. The 10’ ceilings rise to cathedral height in this stunning retreat and beams intersect the peak with a wood and bronze chandelier suspended for ambiance. A transom window adds natural multi-dimensional light over the bed space and large windows look out to the wooded privacy of the backyard.

Each side is a mirror image of each other and the halls meet at the shared full bathroom with 48” vanity with cultured marble top, Kohler fixtures and a tub/shower combo. A window looks out to the wooded side yard. The hall holds a linen closet and across from the bathroom a savvy use of space: A built-in desk area with shiplap wall, open shelves with iron brackets, and a whimsical bronze/brass hanging light fixture. Basement: The entire 2100 sq ft first floor is mirrored downstairs creating endless opportunities for additional space. Mechanicals are housed here including a 200-amp electrical panel neatly labeled and conveniently right at the bottom of the stairs, a high-efficiency Carrier propane fired furnace, a full-house air exchanger, and a well pressure tank.
