Glenwood Place: Glenwood has always been a part of the Summerplace community of active adults 55 and older, which includes single family homes.  From the beginning, Glenwood has been governed by its own set of bylaws as well as the bylaws of Summerplace. Glenwood residents pay monthly homeowner association fees to Glenwood plus a once-a-year fee to Summerplace, which gives them access to the clubhouse, pool, tennis courts and many organized activities.

Glenwood elects its own volunteer board of directors that oversees compliance with our bylaws to maintain a safe and healthy community, landscaping, building maintenance and finances.  Building representatives work to keep communication open among neighbors and board members.  Glenwood has always operated with volunteers instead of hiring a management company.  This keeps homeowner association fees more reasonable than many other condo complexes, which is good for residents as well as home resale values.

Some Glenwood owners are retired; others are still working.  Glenwood has its own community garden where a few residents grow vegetables and often share with neighbors.  Residents are often seen chatting at the mailboxes or while walking dogs.  When Glenwood residents pass by in their vehicles, they welcome you with a friendly wave.  Sometimes potlucks or ice cream socials are held on the “courtyard,” the favorite Glenwood party spot.  

Yes, it’s 40 years and counting at Glenwood Place.  Volunteers continue to manage the property and look out for one another.  It is a friendly community and a great place to call home.
